Will Snyder

Owner / Certified Residential Appraiser / Supervising Appraiser

Founder and owner, Will Snyder, grew up in rural, central Oregon on a 2,000 acre ranch, moving to Canby in 1994. He began his real estate career in 2003 as a Realtor and earned his Certified Residential Appraiser credential in 2007. Appraising is Will’s passion and he still gets excited when he reconciles and delivers a difficult assignment. Additionally, Will is a state approved Supervising Appraiser which allows him to teach what he loves. He generally has 1 to 2 appraiser assistants at any time learning the appraiser profession. Will specializes in appraising acreage "hobby farm" parcels, manufactured homes, waterfront properties, new construction and high-end homes. Lastly, Will is approved to complete appraisals for VA, FHA and USDA guaranteed loans.

As a Realtor, Will has gained valuable insight on how emotion can influence the purchase, sale, or construction of a new home. He understands that some may yearn for acreage, solitude, and large shops, while others may thrive in a small condo on the 15th floor of a downtown Portland skyscraper. His experience in both sectors provides a unique perspective to every assignment he handles.

In 2010, at the low end of the market crash, Will saw opportunities as an investor and developer. Since then he has been working with contractors to renovate unfinanceable homes, develop land for residential construction, and build new homes.

Will is a proud alumni of George Fox University and in his free time, he enjoys remodeling projects, camping, and long distance motorcycle rides. Will lives in Canby with his wife and two daughters.

Mitch Hurt

Registered Appraisal Assistant

Mitch joined Snyder Appraisal Group in 2021. He is a true born Oregonian, coming into the world at Good Samaritan Hospital in NW Portland. After graduating Sunset High School, Mitch traveled the country and parts of the world; living briefly in Hawaii and Utah, and visiting countries like England, France, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Mitch was a construction contractor through his 20s, and also ran a window cleaning crew up until he joined the Army at age 28. In the Army, Mitch worked as a surgical technician doing two tours in combat zones; one in South Korea (yes, it’s technically still at war), and the other in Kuwait during 2003’s Operation Iraqi Freedom. Oddly enough, his unit in Kuwait, the 47th C.A.S.H. (Combat Support Hospital), is the modern transformation of the 4077 M.A.S.H. (Mobile Army Support Hospital), maybe you have seen the show.

During and after the Army, Mitch continued contracting part-time. His love and interests for design and construction led him to become a Journeyman Surveyor with the Local 701 Operators Union. He proudly surveyed the new Hayward Field Track Stadium in Eugene, the new Federal Courthouse in downtown Portland, and the new Seaside High School.

Mitch has a Bachelor of Science degree from Portland State University and has transitioned out of the construction field and into Residential Appraising. His years of experience in construction and surveying, and the fact that his father was a 30+ years mortgage broker and his wife is a 15+ years Realtor, helps give him an edge in the ever changing real estate market.

Brendan Yates

Appraisal Team Member

Brendan joined Snyder Appraisal Group in late 2025. Raised in Canby, he moved to Arizona for college in 2016 to attend Grand Canyon University, earning a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice. Soon afterward, he moved back to Canby, and worked at the Port of Portland until enlisting in the United States Airforce in 2019, honorably discharging in 2024. In 2025, Brendan volunteered with YWAM in Scotland, to serve refugees in the middle east and in Albania.

During Brendan’s time in the Air Force he worked as a firefighter in Barksdale, Louisiana. For the first two years Brendan worked as urban and airfield crew, responding to medical and fire emergencies. Soon after he was assigned as a driver for the department. Before the end of his fire career, Brendan worked as a dispatcher for his military base, sending teams of medical and fire responders to help the public.

During his time in the military Brendan developed a teachable attitude, eager and willing to learn about the real estate and appraising, taking each step forward with intentionality. He is excited to learn and is working to becoming a Registered Appraisal Assistant.

Brendan enjoys hiking, camping, board games, and spending time with his nephews.
